Purpose of the Admissions Policy

The purpose of this policy is to outline the admissions process for Iqtidor Xalqaro Maktabi.

Non-Discrimination Statement

Iqtidor Xalqaro Maktabi is committed to providing equal opportunities for all applicants. The school does not discriminate based on race, color, gender, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. All applicants are evaluated solely on their individual abilities, potential, and alignment with the school’s mission and values.

Admissions

Criteria Admissions decisions are based on the following criteria:

  • Academic Talent: Evidence of foundational academic readiness, including literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity: Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn, as observed through assessments and interactions.
  • Social Communication Skills: The ability to engage respectfully and collaboratively with peers and adults.
  • Parent alignment with School Values: A willingness to embrace a culture of learning, creativity, and respect.
  • Physical fitness: The student's health condition must be medically appropriate for active participation in the school's educational and training process.
Assessment Process

Applicants are tested through an individual assessment by the head of the admissions department and a psychologist, and, if necessary, by involving expert mentors, to assess the candidate's knowledge in order to determine their academic potential, interests, and social communication skills.

  • Structure: Depending on the grade level, individual tasks are provided to determine reading and writing, elementary (higher) mathematics, thinking skills, and creativity.
  • Purpose: Measure individual academic readiness and intellectual curiosity.
Observation and Scoring

Facilitators and observers document the child’s engagement, responses, and abilities during each activity. Standardized scoring rubrics are used to ensure fairness and consistency.

Admissions Decisions

The Admissions Committee, which reviews the assessment results and application documents, makes the final decision after the Executive Director conducts a final admissions interview with both parents. Each child and parents are comprehensively assessed based on their overall potential and compatibility with the school's values.

Communication of Results
  • Once the admission process is complete, results will be announced within one business day (or even immediately). Families of accepted students will be provided with an official congratulatory letter and invitation, along with detailed information about the next steps, as well as deadlines, and the contract process will begin.
  • Parents of unsuccessful candidates have the right to request feedback on their child’s assessment results.
Appeals Process
  • Families who are dissatisfied with the admissions decision may submit a written appeal to the Admissions Office within 7 business days of the decision being announced. Appeals will be considered by the Advisory Board at the next board meeting, and the final decision will be communicated within 3 business days of the Board meeting.
Data Privacy and Confidentiality
  • All assessment data and application materials are treated with strict confidentiality. The school ensures compliance with applicable data protection laws to safeguard applicant information.
